The Product:
Good Fun is an Web and mobile app for social good, it is a free app to help young adults access health and wellness tips, recipes as well as a meal planner and shopping list that connects directly to grocery ordering apps.
Young adults do not have the recipe knowledge of prior generations. There is so much grab and go food that is bad for you. Recipe sites have a lot of click bait and long drawn out stories before you can even get to a recipe, other sites you have to pay for.
The Problem
The Goal
My Role
Lead UX designer, coordinator, visual design, motion designer, researcher, from conception to launch
Usability Research
A free resource that connects young adults with guided and also convenient and easy recipes and lifestyle plans. Recipes go directly on your shopping list and from there you can order your groceries in one click.
Ideation
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users, I’m designing for their needs. A primary user group identified through research was college kids. Target market is young adults but really anyone can benefit from this service. This user group confirmed initial assumptions about Good Fun customers, but research also revealed that time was not the only factor limiting users from having a plan for a healthy lifestyle. Other user problems included obligations, expense, stress, or challenges that make it difficult to prepare healthy meals.
User testing findings
Users wanted More resposive pages. they wanted to be able to to add manually to their shopping list
Users wanted videos instead of just text for better accessibility
Users hate long winded recipes. No more long winded recipes. No "life stories"
User Flows
Wireframe and lo-fi prototypes
I wanted to create a product that was easy to use. Easy sign up and implementation for young adults and everybody.
